It reminds me of my interrupted walks home from the school bus stop as a youngster… being lured into the strange old ladies home up the road with promises of sweets, lizards, scary movies & other eye widening delights, only to be fed – in some depth, instructional procedures in preparing Tomato Soup with 11 different variations. It was here I was also fortunate enough to inherit, verbally, a number of invaluable life lessons from her… for example “If one is to posses a creative soul, one must understand that a serving of wheatbix and warm water is a more than adequate midday meal”… The Fantails were delicious but to be truthful, she just confused me.

Ever witnessed a goldfish lose it’s shit & leap from it’s spacious glass enclosure because your cat wouldn’t cease up on the repetitive bathing of oneself whilst pressing it’s fury coat against the bowl? Damn that short memory loss… and such a fundamental guideline to have slip the mind too. ‘One must remain in water at all times to maintain the act of breathing and consequentially, living’. Being a fish would definitely have it’s disadvantages i’d say…

Wanting to trial a green screen I had put together, I set out on a mission to find someone in the local community to film a small piece on; someone who had taken it upon themselves to make a positive difference in some way to their families, friends, neighbours or just the lifestyle of the folk in the local communities. Looking back now though, I feel I probably should have scripted the flyer with a little more detail regarding what I was looking for….
Have you got the time was filmed around Melbourne in South Yarra, at the Vic Market & for the most part in St Kilda. I had received a brand new Nixon Watch as a prize through work and without any real need for a watch myself, I figured it’s value could be spent in a far better way. The basic plan was, in 1 day to sell the watch with the hope of attracting somewhere close to $40-50, and then use that money to buy some basic items for as many underprivileged folk as possible. Here’s how it panned out…
